Q. What is Bettering Kettering College Giving Day?

Bettering Kettering College is Kettering College’s 2024Giving Day.  This is a 24-hour giving campaign on April 10, 2024 designed to inspire alumni, students, friends, family, faculty and staff, and supporters to come together and provide essential funding to support current and future students while showing their pride in Kettering College.  This annual event shines a spotlight on giving to Kettering College and the difference this support means to supporting scholarships and student assistance.

Q. Who can donate?

Anyone with a credit card and access to the internet can donate on this online site.  Donations can also be made by PayPal, ApplePay, or mailing cash or check to: Kettering College Giving Day

Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy to use products that allows organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.

Kettering College has chosen GiveGab to manage the online platform used for Bettering Kettering College.

Donations made online through this site will be processed by GiveGab and the funds will then be transferred to Kettering Health Foundation – the philanthropic organization that oversees fundraising for Kettering College.


Q. Can I participate in the Giving Day if I did not graduate from Kettering College?

Yes! Students, parents, faculty/staff, and friends are encouraged to support Kettering College on Giving Day.

When you fill out the donation form, we’ll ask you what your affiliation to Kettering College is.

Just pick the option that describes you most closely so we know why giving to Kettering College and impacting the lives of students is important to you!


Q. What forms of donations are accepted?

MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, PayPal, and ApplePay donations can be made on this site on April 10, 2024.

Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?

Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift.


Q. Is there a minimum gift?

There is a $5 minimum donation.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit givingday.kc.edu – the same site you’re on now – from your preferred device!


Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?

Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are encouraged because they are one of Kettering College’s best resources to address emerging opportunities and respond to unanticipated needs and challenges of students and the college. In addition to the Annual Fund, Kettering College has chosen to highlight 6 specific areas where gifts can be designated for Bettering Kettering College.  2024 Giving Day will focus on gifts made to the General Scholarship Fund, the Student Assistance Fund, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship, the Ukraine Student Fund, and the PA fund.  More information about where you can direct your 2024 Giving Day gift to go can be found on each of the fund pages on this site.


Q. Will my gift – if made in advance of the Giving Day – help populate the leaderboards?

Yes! Gifts made by mail or phone for Giving Day in the month of April will be displayed on the leaderboard when it goes live at 12:00am April 10, 2023. 


Q. Is my payment secure?

Absolutely – Kettering College Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company who has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through givingday.kc.edu. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.


Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?

Q. Is my Bettering Kettering College contribution tax deductible?

Yes, your gift is tax deductible to the extent provided by law. You will receive an email confirmation that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes.


Q. Does it cost anything to give online? How much of my donation will Kettering College receive?

There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express). You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift. If you choose not to do so, the cost will be absorbed through the college’s administrative budget, leaving 100% of your gift to support students and to remain tax deductible.


Q. What if I already made a gift to Kettering College this year?

Thank you for your generous support of Kettering College and helping us to fulfill our mission of educating the next generation of healthcare professionals!   We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on April 10th to help unlock some extra challenge gifts that are being offered by a few donors.   We also need your help to promote Bettering Kettering College to others. We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Ambassador Toolkit on the site.   You can also watch for social media posts and emails leading up to and during Giving Day that you can share with people you know that might be interested.  We would love for you to be involved in whatever way you can and encourage you to be INNOVATIVE in how you help create support for Kettering College on April 10th!


Q. Can I help promote Giving Day?

Yes, we encourage you to!
Become a Champion Fundraiser and rally around our cause.  You can create your own fundraising page and share it with your network to help us Better Kettering College and make a difference in the lives of our students.

We encourage you to share the images and messages that are located in the Ambassador Toolkit. Send an email to classmates, post on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, yell, put signs on your lawn. It's all encouraged!   You can also watch for social media posts and emails leading up to and during Giving Day that you can share with people you know that might be interested.  We would love for you to be involved in whatever way you can and encourage you to be INNOVATIVE in how you help create support for Kettering College on April 10th! 


Q. Can I use my employer's matching gifts funds?

Yes! We strongly encourage you to take advantage of your employer's generosity to enhance the impact of your support to Kettering College. Check with your company to see if they offer matching gifts and find out what their process for claiming these funds is!


Q. How will the donation be reported on my credit card?

Gifts made on Giving Day will appear on your credit card as Kettering College.
